Who is this event for?
This event is for any younger adult looking to gather with others in song and community in a home environment. Whether you are looking to recapture some of the spirit of Shabbat you experienced at Jewish overnight camp or are brand new to Judaism and curious what this environment looked and felt like, we welcome you to join us for this joyous and spirited Shabbat gathering!
What else do I need to know?
The event will be led by two current song-leaders at OSRUI who will lead us in some of the most popular Shabbat songs that are being sung at Jewish overnight camps all around the world. This is not a worship service and though a handful of the songs may have liturgical connections, the format and style of the evening will be structured as a song session, capturing the traditional spirit of celebrating Shabbat with joyous song in a home environment. Singing is not required but it is encouraged for those who feel comfortable! We'll provide song sheets so you can join in easily.
We'll provide drinks and desserts and will also give time for socializing and connecting, in addition to singing.
Registration is required and a donation in any amount is encouraged to help us cover the costs of the event. We will share the address of the event after you register.
