Find your people; ignite your passion

Our small groups are designed to foster strong relationships among participants, while diving deeply into topics of shared interest. By signing up for one of these groups, you will find people to live Jewishly with, while growing and learning through professional facilitation.

Seeds of Mussar | Virtual Va'ad (Small Group)

Mussar is a Jewish spiritual practice that invites us to explore our inner lives, grow our relationships, and helps us connect with community A va’ad (small group) gathers regularly to explore personal attributes or values, called middot, that each of us has in different measure. We meet as a va’ad every other week on Sunday mornings between November and April with additional touch points throughout the month. This va’ad is offered in partnership with Twin Cities Mussar and Twin Cities Jewish Renewal Community and is facilitated by Rabbi Jill Avrin of YourJewish.

Why is it important to find your people?

Creating Safe Space

Many people feel much more comfortable being with people who identify similar to themselves, finding greater personal safety in such settings. Whether it be as a family with children of a certain age, gender identity, or someone who is brand new to town, we can find comfort in being with others like ourselves. These safe spaces enable personal growth and connection.

Addressing Loneliness

One of the first lessons we learn in Torah is that it is not good for humans to be alone. Loneliness is one of the biggest issues that people face today and we hope to address it by helping people crate deep and meaningful relationships with others through participating in a small group that meets regularly over a period of time.

Get out More

Many people avoid leaving the comfort of their home for a variety of reasons. It can be scary to put yourself out there, even if you know you are lacking connection with others. We invite you to take the leap to try something new and imagine the possibilities of adding new experiences and relationships into your life.
